How to make a coco pole - The Pad
In this tutorial, I'll walk through the steps I took to make a Coco Pad for one of my wavy trellises. The idea can also be used for other similar structures or trellises. ☺️

Draw out the shape of the trellis on the back of the coco coir fabric |
Cut out the first side, flip it over and draw out the other one
Cut the second side out, lay them together and prepare a large needle
Make a pattern of stitches to hold the two sides together. You can make stitches along the edges and slide the pad on to the trellis on later, or attach the trellis at this stage.
Finish mounting the pad to the trellis with a couple of stitches at the top
The plant will need some help until it has attached its own air roots to the coco coir. Attach the vines to the coco coir with a couple of stitches using an arched or large needle. |
DONE! I placed my stitches in a simple pattern and added just a few stitches along the edges to keep the pad in place. But don't hesitate to be creative and play with the materials or adding colors! |
